We cant change your name, you're premium. You have to change it on mojangs website. The server should figure out that it was changed automatically.
Unless you bought a new account named AtlasTech in which case the title doesn't say shit.

I changed it via Mojang and the server registered me as a new player

Necro bump, tried logging in with multimc, pixelmon launcher, Mojang launcher account still didn't change

Should be fixed now. Make sure you restart your launcher before starting minecraft after you change your name next time.
