Lately there has been some issues with people not showing respect to staff members or other players. I want to remind you all that being disrespectful to, not just staff, but anyone else is completely unacceptable behavior. This kind of behavior, above all, is not tolerated by the Limitless Staff and will result in heavy consequences. If you or anyone else feels uncomfortable with the actions of anyone on the server, be it staff or another player, please notify either another moderator/admin or Jay113355 and Tordo (the server owners). We will ensure that the person (persons) is (are) dealt with.

Related to the above topic, I wanted to discuss cyber bullying. Cyber Bullying is never okay. You might think it's just harmless fun, but it can have severe consequences. Cyber Bullying is defined as "bullying that takes place using electronic technology. Examples of cyber bullying include mean text messages or emails, rumors sent by email or posted on social networking sites, and embarrassing pictures, videos, websites, or fake profiles." This is not a full comprehensive list of what is defined as cyber bullying, but provides a nice base. Basically, it is any behavior online that involves the harassment of another human being.

Here's another definition from a United States Legal perspective:

"According to U.S. Legal Definitions, cyber-bullying could be limited to posting rumors or gossips about a person in the internet bringing about hatred in other’s minds; or it may go to the extent of personally identifying victims and publishing materials severely defaming and humiliating them"

Why Worry About Cyber Bullying?

The biggest issue with cyber bullying is that often times people who are being cyber bullied are also bullied offline, such as in school. When this behavior extends to electronic devices, a person can be harassed 24/7. Not only can they be harassed 24/7, but a lot of it can be done anonymously.

Consequences of Cyber Bullying

So, what can happen if you are found cyber bullying? Most U.S. states have laws against it. Most law agencies have cyber crime divisions and treat cyber crime more seriously than some real-life situations. Such consequences that can be taken are civil and criminal charges, suspension from school and being removed from sports teams and school organizations. For those who do not know, criminal charges include jail time/juvenile detention.

Here's a link that discusses the legal consequences of cyber bullying in Canada.

To sum things up: If you know of any potential cyber bullying going on, notify staff immediately and document the behavior. We want this server to be a fun, safe place for our community. This is a game. Games are meant to be fun. Don't take the fun out of it for anyone.
