a server reset is the best option because of many reasons
*the server will lag less with the small world file and less chunks being loaded
* corrupted chunks wont crash the server
* all of the landscape will be griefer free less 1 block towers and noob houses
* the spawn will have a fresher look and style (more items in the shop maybe?)
* the rollback bug is hopefully fixed
* we all get to start over and build new houses
* the new spawn location wont have a big ocean around it as it was hard to find land
* with the 1.7 update as stated in the thread new biomes and items for us to enjoy
