There should be a way to block mail from ignored players, whether that is an option or not, it should just be an option that exists due to the fact that an ignored player can continue to try and contact you or annoy you by using mail. Usually if you ignore a player, it's because you don't want to have any contact with them anymore, and the mailbox can be used to bypass this.
